UEL draw: Arsenal to face Atletico Madrid

Arsenal have been drawn against two-time winners Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The Gunners progressed to the final four courtesy of a 6-3 aggregate win over Russian side CSKA Moscow on Thursday, while Atletico survived a scare against Sporting Lisbon to claim a 2-1 win over the course of the two legs.
Arsene Wenger’s side will host Atletico at the Emirates on April 26 in the first-ever competitive meeting between the two clubs before returning to face the Spanish side at Wanda Metropolitano on May 3.
The Gunners progressed from their only previous European semi-final tie against Spanish opposition – Villarreal in the 2005-06 Champions League.
Meanwhile, Marseille will face Red Bull Salzburg in the other semi-final.
The French club defeated RB Leipzig 5-3 on aggregate to reach the last four, while Salzburg produced a miraculous comeback to edge out Lazio 6-5 in the quarter-finals are losing the first leg in Italy 4-2.
The two-legged ties will be played on April 26 and May 3, with the final played at the Stade de Lyon on May 16.
This is an opportunity for Marseille. If they get to the final, the atmosphere in Lyon will be incredible. Thousands of their supporters, the most passionate fans in France, will make the 170-mile trip to take over the city.
