The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM in Ogun state, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade on Friday disclosed that there’s hopelessness across Ogun state.

He made the assertion during the governorship debate organized by BBC News Yoruba in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

While reiterating his zeal to uplift the present state of Ogun state, the House of Representatives’ member asserted that ‘Ogun state is in a situation of hopelessness’.

“I’ve traversed not less than 211 wards in Ogun state, and all I can see is hopelessness on the faces of our people”

Akinlade, who is the anointed candidate of the Gov. Ibikunle Amosun was unable to secure the governorship ticket of the APC. He has however pitched his tent with the APM, yet enjoying the full backing of Amosun.

Many pundits and commentators have attributed this assertion by Akinlade has a below the belt for his boss(Amosun).

Speaking on this, Demola Joseph said it is clear indictment of a hopeless government that have neglected the people’s centred programs & policies for white elephant projects.

“The statement made by Kunle(Akinlade) is the true reflection of what Ogun state has been going through in the hands of Gov. Amosun. This is a government that has shown disdain for the people, it is sad that we’ve found ourselves here. More worrisome is that this government is now planning succession, hope the people of Ogun state will do the needful?”

Another commentator, Bankole Sule simply said, no one would rate Ogun state above what the APM candidate had done.

“He(Akinlade) has done well by that rating, hope he now knows the poverty, mismanagement of resources & underdevelopement his godfather has brought to Ogun state” Sule submitted.
