The 18-year-old striker has followed in the footsteps of Neymar by joining the Parc des Princes side, and signs from Monaco initially on a loan deal

Mbappe, 18, arrives initially on a season-long loan, but PSG have an all-but-certain option to buy him next summer on a deal lasting until 2022.

“I really wanted to be a part of the club’s project, which is one of the most ambitious in Europe,” said Mbappe.

The loan may allow PSG time to stay within financial fair play (FFP) regulations, which allow a club only a €30m deficit. Following their record Neymar purchase, PSG wanted to structure their deal for Mbappe so the financial impact of his arrival would not be taken into account this season.

The only way PSG will not be obliged to buy Mbappe next summer is if they are relegated from Ligue 1.

The teenager is regarded as one of the hottest properties in the game, having exploded into Monaco’s starting XI in the second half of last season by scoring 26 times in 44 matches.

“Among players of his age, he is without doubt the most promising in the world due to his immense technical, physical and mental qualities,” PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said.

The forward started the French Super Cup defeat to PSG, and then Monaco’s first Ligue 1 game of the new campaign, but has since been an unused substitute or left out of the squad entirely.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Soliu Adetunji has cleared the air on his absence from the coronation of the 21 newly elevated kings of Ibadan on Sunday, 27th August, 2017 at the ancient Mapo Hall.

The monarch, speaking through his media officer, Mr. Adeola Oloko on a Fresh 105.9 FM program on Tuesday said his absence from the program is due to lack of proper invitation and notification of the program.

According to the monarch, he became aware through the advert of the function on the media, addressing him as the royal father of the day without any letter to that effect.

Speaking contrary to the claim of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Isiaka Ajimobi that Olubadan was duly consulted before the decision to elevate the chiefs to beaded crown kings, the monarch made it clear that he was notified after the committee set up by the governor has started sitting and almost concluded their assignment and then, there is nothing he could do to avert it.

Okolo said the royal father spotted some abnormalities in the coronation process.

In his words, “One, that coronation and installation of kings in Ibadan tradition is only done on Friday and sometimes, Monday.”

He also stated that a member of the Olubadan -in- council, High Chief Femi Olaifa, the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland died few days to the occasion and a minute silence was not observed to honor the Chief who was also supposed to be crowned on that day.

“Another defect of the arrangement as elucidated by Olubadan is that in the chieftaincy arrangement of Ibadanland, the Mogajis are superior to Baales, in fact, the Mogaji selects who will be a Baale. So, making Baale king over Mogaji has negated the tradition of the land.”

Olubadan, however, maintained that there exists a very cordial relationship between himself and the chiefs.

Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather defeated UFC champion Conor McGregor in 10 rounds in their much-anticipated fight Saturday night.
Mayweather, 41, became the first-ever boxer to reach 50 fights undefeated.
Mayweather, a five-time world champion, was coaxed out of retirement to face McGregor, a mixed martial arts champion who had never boxed professionally.
The verbal sparring began long before the first punch is thrown. For the last two months, Mayweather and McGregor have been on a trash-talking tour promoting the unusual match-up between a mixed martial arts champion and a man who many consider to be the best pound-for-pound boxer in history.
It saw the former five-weight world champion extend his record to 50-0.
Mayweather said: “He is a tough competitor and we gave the fans what they wanted to see.
“He was a lot better than I thought. He was a tough competitor, but I was the better man.
“I guaranteed everybody this would not go the distance. Boxing’s reputation was on the line.”
Mayweather, who came out of retirement to face McGregor, added: “This was my last fight, for sure.
“I chose the right dance partner. Conor McGregor, you are a hell of a champion.”
Mayweather, who was the overwhelming favorite, is eyeing a $200 to $300 million payday. McGregor could earn up to $100 million — win or lose. But McGregor had to stick to boxing rules, which means no kicking and no grappling.
The build-up Saturday night was so intense that the fight was delayed due to pay-per-view problems.

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele for a fee that could rise to 147m euros (£135.5m), making him the world’s second most expensive player.

Barca will pay an initial 105m euros (£96.8m) for the France international, 20, who has agreed a five-year contract and will undergo a medical on Monday.

The deal is eclipsed only by Neymar’s recent £200m move to Paris St-Germain.

Barca revealed that his deal will contain a release clause of 400m euros.Dembele has not featured for Dortmund since the German Super Cup on 5 August. The German side rejected a bid from Barca for the forward earlier in August, with the player thensuspended for missing training.

Dortmund said they rejected Barca’s approach because their offer “did not correspond to the extraordinary footballing and additional value of the player and the present economic situation of the European transfer market”.

With regard to the fee now agreed, Dortmund said in a statement that the payment of add-ons “was agreed up to a maximum total amount of approximately 40% of the fixed transfer fee”.

Barca have failed with three bids for Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, with their most recent offer of £114m turned down last Friday.

Luis Suarez’s transfer from Liverpool in 2014 is officially their most expensive purchase, at £75m.

However, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has previously that said “the overall cost of the operation” to sign Neymar from Brazilian club Santos in 2013 was “over 100m euros (£92m)”, despite the transfer fee having been disclosed as £48.6m.

Last season, Dembele scored 10 goals and provided 21 assists as Dortmund finished third in the Bundesliga and won the German Cup, also reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.

He joined Dortmund from French side Rennes on a five-year deal in May 2016, having been voted Ligue 1 young player of the year for the 2015-16 season, when he scored 12 goals and made five assists.

Demeble made his senior France debut in 2016, the only goal in seven caps to date coming in a3-2 friendly victory over England in June.

He was left out of the France squad for September’s World Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands and Luxembourg, with manager Didier Deschamps explaining on Thursday: “Ousmane hasn’t trained for a fortnight and he’s waiting to see if the transfer will go ahead or won’t go ahead.”

The second biggest transfer ever

2016 – Paul Pogba £89m (Juventus to Manchester United)

2013 – Gareth Bale £85m (Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid)

Floyd Mayweather said Saturday’s fight against McGregor wouldn’t go the distance, Mayweather did not mean it would be because McGregor would somehow knock him out and score perhaps the biggest upset in sports history.

Mayweather, a supreme counterpuncher, said he will be aggressive and go forward even though McGregor’s trainer, John Kavanagh has said he was skeptical.

“We’ll see. We’ll see. At the end of the day you will see the results,” Mayweather said. “This fight won’t go the distance. Remember that, no matter what his coach say. His coach can’t fight for him. When it comes down to it, it comes down to the two fighters. I just said what I said [about winning by knockout]. This is how I feel.

It may come to a surprise to some that Mayweather is guaranteeing he will knock out Conor McGregor, the UFC star crossing over to boxing for a huge money fight when they meet on Saturday (Showtime PPV, 9 p.m. ET) at the T-Mobile Arena.

“One hundred percent chance this fight won’t go the distance.” He said

Mayweather’s greatest skill is on defense, where he is supremely difficult to hit with a clean punch. And while he often makes his opponents pay by landing his own assortment of shots, one thing he is not is a knockout artist.

In fact, Mayweather has not knocked out an opponent since his somewhat controversial fourth-round stoppage of Victor Ortiz in September 2011. In that fight, Mayweather reclaimed a welterweight world title when he nailed Ortiz — after Ortiz dropped his hands and was looking at the referee, who had broken them from a clinch

Prior to that KO, Mayweather’s previous stoppage — a no-doubt-about-it one with no controversy — came when he blasted Ricky Hatton in the 11th round of a 2007 welterweight world title defense.

In all, Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) has stopped two opponents in his past 11 bouts.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the UEFA Player of the Year after Real Madrid win the Champions League for a second successive time last season.

The Blancos forward was awarded the prize ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon

Ronaldo’s outstanding performances helped Los Blancos to become the first club to retain the Champions League trophy.

Elsewhere, Buffon was named the goalkeeper of the season, Sergio Ramos the top defender, and Luka Modric the best midfielder, while Ronaldo was also named UEFA forward of the year, beating Paulo Dybala and, again, Messi for the award.

Women’s Player of the Year went to Lieke Martens of Barcelona, who topped Pernille Harder of Wolfsburg and Dzsenifer Marozsán of Lyon.

The shortlist was selected using votes collected from the 80 coaches of teams in the group stage of either the Champions League or Europa League and 55 journalists put forward by the European Sports Media (ESM) group.

Champions League holders Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham in a difficult group following the draw ceremony in Monaco on Thursday.

Barcelona will have the chance to get revenge for last season’s Champions league defeat to Juventus as the pair were drawn together in the group phase.

Chelsea will take on Atletico Madrid, Qarabag and Roma in Group C following the draw, leaving a tough ask to make the last-16.

Manchester City will be more confident, having been drawn against Shakhtar Donetsk, Feyenoord and Napoli.

Manchester United received a simpler task after being draw with Benfica, FC Basel and CSKA Moscow in Group A, while Manchester City will face Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli and Feyenoord in in Group F.

And there was further good news for Liverpool, who will face Spartak Moscow, Sevilla and Maribor.
Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, have a daunting start to their campaign in the shape of Bayern Munich in Group B, alongside Anderlecht and Celtic.

Group A: Benfica, Manchester United, FC Basel, CSKA Moscow.
Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Anderlecht, Celtic.
Group C: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Roma, FK Qarabag.
Group D: Juventus, Barcelona, Olympiakos, Sporting CP.
Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, NK Maribor.
Group F: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli, Feyenoord.
Group G: Monaco, FC Porto, Besiktas, RB Leipzig.
Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, APOEL Nicosia.

The first group games will be played on Sept. 12-13.
