James Rodriguez has completed a move to English Premier League side Everton from Real Madrid.

Rodriguez finally becomes a Toffee after weeks of speculation and has wrapped up a two year deal with an option for a third year for 22 million Pounds.

29-year-old Rodriguez becomes the latest player to join Carlo Ancelotti’s side. The Colombian attacker links up with the Italian gaffer for a third time, having played under him at Real Madrid in 2014 and Bayern Munich in 2017.

The new marquee signing is excited to be in Merseyside.

“I am really, really happy to be at this great club, a club with so much history, and here with a manager who knows me really well”, Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez has been out of favour in Zinedine Zidane’s squad and fell down the pecking order having never reached the heights that made him a sought after player since signing for the Los Blancos side in 2014 after the FIFA World Cup.

Interestingly, the only time the former Porto star ever picked up consistency in his form at Madrid was when Ancelotti was in charge, and he led the Spanish club to a UEFA Champions League crown that year.

Rodriguez had one year left in his Madrid contract before opting for a move to England.

Rodriguez has previously played for FC Porto in Portugal, AS Monaco in France, Real Madrid in Spain, and Bayern Munich in Germany.
