House of Representatives member from Oyo State, Hon Temitope Olatoye fondly called ‘Sugar’ by his admirers has been killed by gunmen.
He died at the intensive care unit of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Saturday, evening, after he was shot in the eye by unknown gunmen in Ibadan.
It was gathered that the lawmaker was reported to have sustained gunshot injury this afternoon and was admitted at the emergency unit of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
The spokesman of the hospital, Toye Akinrinlola, said the lawmaker was brought in a critical situation
Reports said the assailant bullets hit Sugar in his eyes and on his rescue by people around, he was rushed to the UCH around 5:00 pm, where he was taken into an emergency unit in critical condition condition.
The lawmaker was elected into the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2011 where he was elected under the platform of the All People’s Congress APC.
Mr Olatoye represents Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
He contested the senatorial seat of Oyo Central senatorial district two weeks ago but lost to Teslim Folarin of the APC.
