Nigerian Afro pop singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has been invited by the Lagos State Police Command over the death of Tagbo Umeike, a close associate of the singer
The ‘Fall’ singer was summoned to state what he knows about the incident.
Tagbo died days ago after he reportedly hung out with the DMW boss who was accused of dumping the late bloke’s corpse at the hospital and taking a dive.
Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma who is a friend of the late Tagbo had earlier taken to Instagram to drag Davido accusing him of complications.
Caroline Danjuma had alleged that Tagbo in company of Davido and his crew died mysteriously Monday night.
She said the deceased was also taken to the General Hospital in Lagos in Davido’s car and was abandoned there.
She went further to post pictures of the deceased, saying the “truth is out”.
Although Davido who only recently concluded his ’30 billion’ tour has denied any complicity in the death, he was last night invited to appear before the police to state his side of the story.
Davido, took to Snapchat saying, “God knows the truth.”
However, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi met with Davido and other parties involved while the autopsy result was now being awaited to determine what line of action to take next.
The Police further revealed that Davido was implicated after Tagbo’s girlfriend fingered him of having knowledge of the deceased last moments alive.
“The Lion Building Police Division is investigating a case of sudden and unnatural death. The person concerned, who was Davido’s friend, was brought in dead to a general hospital on Lagos Island and the doctor notified the police.

“The autopsy report will be out tomorrow (Friday) or Monday and that would determine the cause of death. The deceased’s girlfriend insinuated that Davido had a hand in the friend’s death because they (Tagbo and Davido) were seen together in a bar somewhere in Lekki, having a nice time.

“I called all the parties concerned because there is always the need for the police to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order. The police are already investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and we are ensuring that all possible angles are touched. We will issue a statement after investigations. Meanwhile, there is no need for speculations.”
