Conor McGregor has promised to knock out Floyd Mayweather in the fourth round of their first ever mega fight on August, 26.
“There’s no other way about it. His little legs, his little core, his little head. I’m going to knock him out inside four rounds, mark my words.
Mayweather replied: “I guarantee you’re going out on your face or your back.”
The 28-year-old UFC star danced in front of Mayweather as their press tour kicked off in Los Angeles ahead of the August 26 bout in Las Vegas which will see McGregor in his first professional boxing fight against five-weight undefeated champion Mayweather.
“The movement, the power, the ferociousness – he’s not experienced this. He’s fought people who have shied away from him. I don’t fear this limited set of fighting. This is a limited set of rules that makes this half a fight, a quarter of a fight. If this was a true fight, it wouldn’t even take one round.
His opponent then took to the podium to show off a $100m cheque from his last bout and derided the Irishman for his UFC submission loss to Nate Diaz.
‘Money’ Mayweather hit back at McGregor before the pair squared off and exchanged angry insults again before their respective teams stepped in.
“He looks good for a seven-figure fighter, he looks good for an eight-figure fighter, but I’m a nine-figure fighter.”
The fight has drawn criticism from some within boxing given McGregor’s lack of record within the sport.
As both men took to the stage, their appearance was the top trend globally on Twitter.
Mayweather retired from boxing after taking his record to 49 fights unbeaten with victory over Andre Berto in 2015.
He has held 11 major world titles but has not stopped an opponent inside the distance since 2011, a point McGregor referenced on stage.
The publicity tour reached Toronto on Wednesday, New York on Thursday and finally London’s SSE Arena on Friday.
