Jay Z’s 13th studio album ‘4:44’ has gone platinum less than a week after its release, says the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The album was released exclusively to Tidal and Sprint members around midnight on June 30.
RIAA CEO Cary Sherman on Wednesday congratulated the rapper on yet another platinum-selling album.
“Props to JAY, he’s done it again! Another Platinum album adds to an already iconic career,” Sherman said in a statement.
The platinum status of ‘4:44’ makes it Jay Z’s 13th solo studio effort to earn the designation.
Jay Z, who recently became the first rapper to get inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, has more platinum albums than any other hip-hop artiste.
