Music Legend and Hypertek Records boss, Innocent Idibia also known as 2Baba, has revealed how he made music history with his 2010 album, The Unstoppable: International Edition.
According to the new UNHCR ambassador said he took a gamble by selling the CDs for N1000 which had never been done in the Nigerian music industry.
The 44-year-old, who was formerly known by the stage name, 2Face Idibia, stated this on Saturday when he shared a post to mark the 10th anniversary of the album on Instagram.
“The Unstoppable International Edition is 10 years. Before then everyone was skeptical about selling a music CD for 1000 Naira, but we were confident of the music, took the gamble and history was made…,” he wrote.
The Unstoppable: International Edition was his fourth studio album, and won the award for Best Rnb/Pop Album at the 2011 edition of the Headies.
It comes after “The Unstoppable” album was produced by J Sleek, Jiggy Jegg, Mic Tunes, Ozzy, Spanky with one track “Flex” produced by R. Kelly and featuring him on the track.
The first and only single from the album was the pre-released “Enter The Place”, in anticipation of the release of the album. The single featured the Nigerian recording artist Sound Sultan.
The release of the original album was marred with a number of delays and difficulties and relatively poor reviews as actual sales of the album in comparison to the initial two solo albums Face 2 Face and Grass 2 Grace were below expectations.
2face Idibia went on to release a new fourth album called The Unstoppable International Edition that contained some of the materials of the album with some other added tracks.
