Glitz, glamour as Senator Oriolowo, Oluwo, others lay foundation for National Library in Iwo

It was all glitz and glamour at the foundation laying and flag-off ceremony for the construction of a new National Library in Osun facilitated to the state by Senator Adelere Oriolowo of Osun West Senatorial district.

The epochal event had the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi leading pack of other traditional rulers, dignitaries and important guests to the event.

Oba Akanbi commended Senator Adelere Oriolowo for facilitating the national library to Iwo, which he said is built on the momentum of how he doggedly led the fight for the sitting of the recently approved Federal College of Education to Osun west and Iwo in particular

He described Oriolowo as promoter of quality governance as he encouraged other public office holders to borrow a leaf from the senator

“The challenge before any responsible leader is ability to serve and achieve more. Senator Oriolowo is a pride of Iwoland. I commend him for giving us quality governance”

Speaking on behalf of the Senator at the event, a veteran journalist and Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Liad Tella appreciated God for making it possible for Senator Adelere Oriolowo to achieve such milestone in a short while in govt.

He said the Senator has taken whatever happens to him recently as prize of leadership and he holds no grudges against nobody, however, he called on well meaning sons and daughters of the state to encourage government through cooperation and protection of public and private properties as it is through that, more developmental projects will be facilitated to the state.

He said the library being constructed will be a digitalized modern Library when completed. He reiterate that, even though the Library will be mostly used by the youth, there’s a special space that will be created for the elderly ones to read and relax as well.

He enjoined his constituents to sow more seeds of loyalty to the government and public figure as the Senator promised to continously serve diligently his Senatorial District, Osun State Government and Nigeria at large.

Aside from the physical developmental project the Senator is facilitating to the state, he has not relent in his human capacity development agenda as well.

In the just concluded week, hundreds of youths, men and women were trained in different Agricultural, vocational and entrepreneurial skills acquisition. While a section of the participants were trained on Animal husbandry in rearing and breeding cattles and making good fortune out of the cattle business, others were trained in the Tie & Dye making, Barbing and Makeup artistry with another set of participants are about to be trained on hairdressing skills.

The library

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chairman of Iwo East LCDA, Hon. Biola Rahman, appealed to the residents of Iwo to enforce further understanding and desist from acts tantamount to portray Iwo negatively. He applauded the Senator for deepening the dividends of democracy to the people by facilitating such establishment to the state.

In his remark at the event, APC leader, Alhaji Alani Gafari, lauded Senator Oriolowo for situating the library in Iwo, he appealed to the residents of the community to imbibe the spirit of protecting public and private properties. He condemned the destruction of properties that accompanied recent #EndSARS protesters, advising the individual to be a good ambassador of the state in whatever they do.

Among other dignitaries at the event is Onisaaji of Oke-saaji, Hon Bola Akinloye, a former house of Assembly member representing Ola-Oluwa local government, Alhaji Yago Olabamiji, a political Chieftain of APC, Hon Semiu Ayofe, APC Chairman, Iwo local government, Hon Tajudeen Ayofe-Adisa, the DG Senator Adelere Oriolowo campaign organisation, religious leaders ably led by CAN Chairman in Iwo and Isokan Musulumi of Iwoland respectively, community leaders, Babaloja and Iyaloja, Student bodies, youth groups, party members and several other personalities.

The Site Manager, Egnr Akinluyi Temitope promised to complete the project in due course as every necessary materials needed for the construction of the Library has been provided.
