Cardi B, DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar lead BET hip-hop awards nominations

American hip-hop artiste and reality star Cardi B joins Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled as the lead nominees for the 2017 BET hip-hop awards, with nine nominations each.

Cardi B received nominations for single of the year, best hip hop video, best mixtape, impact track, MVP of the year, hustler of the year, hot ticket performer, made-you-look award, and best new hip hop artist.

Lamar and DJ Khaled also share nominations in several categories including single of the year, album of the year, best hip hop video, hustler of the year, and MVP of the year.

Both will be going up against Jay Z for album of the year.

Jay-Z and Chance the Rapper are the second-most nominated artistes with five each, vying against each other for lyricist of the year, MVP of the year and hustler of the year.

Future and Migos are also tied with four nominations each for single of the year, album of the year, and the made-you-look award (best hip-hop style).

The award will be taped on October 6 at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami and the ceremony will air on Tuesday, October 10.
