Fast-rising Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake has announced the arrival of his debut album titled “Mr. Money With The Vibe”.
The ‘Sungba’ crooner also known as Ololade Mr. Money released the 12-track project in the early hours of Thursday.
The project features Nigerian Grammy winner Burna boy and American rapper Russ. Songs on the body of work include ‘Terminator’, ‘Organi Se’, ‘Peace Be Unto You’, ‘Dull’, ‘Dupe’, ‘Muse’, and ‘Joha’.
Others include ‘Nzaza’, ‘Ototo’, ‘Reason’, ‘Sunmomi’, and ‘Sungba’ remix.
Asake is the man of the year as far as music goes in Afrobeats. His songs has set the template for hits in 2022 and his debut year is unprecedented in the history of Afrobeats.
The 27-year-old Asake began his music journey at a very young age. He also showcased his talent through several freestyle videos on social media.
His big break in the industry came with the release of his hit song ‘Lady’ in 2020. The song became popular among Nigerian music lovers including celebrities.
In a chat with HipTV, the ‘Trabaye’ singer narrated his journey to becoming a YBNL-signed music artist. Asake said a deal was the last thing he expected after he was told Olamide had decided to feature on his song.
He said he had been begging the rapper since 2020, hence, the reason he clutched at the opportunity.
Olamide announced the signing of Asake in February 2022, releasing ‘Ololade’, his debut EP, which housed four tracks.
The 27-year-old has teamed up with a plethora of Nigerian music heavyweights such as Burna Boy, Fireboy, and DJ Spinall.
Asake is a graduate of theatre and performing arts at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
