Poly Ibadan student shot dead by suspected cultists

A student of the Polytechnic Ibadan was on Friday shot dead by some suspected members of a cult group in the school premises.

According to Nigeria Politics Online, the deceased, identified as Micheal Adeleke Olalade was ND 1 student of the Department of Public administration was killed Friday afternoon.

His lifeless body was found inside The Polytechnic Ibadan Nursery and Primary School located within the premises of the institution by some passersby.

The school is close to Department of Music and halls where students are writing the ongoing second semester examination.

According to Shittu Afeez Enitan, student union representative who spoke with our correspondent said the incident was cultists attack because the perpetrators left a mark for the opposition cult group.

“Well, the cause of the incident is still unknown to many but it was a cult ordeal because they left a sign for rival group.

“At the moment, investigation is ongoing by the management as to the cause of his death. Although he was shot to death by unknown persons.”

“His corpse has been taken away by the security department of the institution,” he added.

Meanwhile, the management of the institution, is yet to release any statement as at the time of filling this report.

The students of the institution are currently writing their second semester examination.
